Successful candidates should have inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists.
Candidates should be working as a Public Health Consultant, ideally within a local authority.
This is an interim role initially for a 6-month period. Working remotely, although there will be a need to attend the office on occasion.
Your focus will be on the pandemic response and you will join an innovative multi-award winning team and lead it to further success.
Responsibilities will include playing a central role in the response to COVID 19 across a variety of settings. There may be other opportunities to also lead a variety of community based health improvement programmes depending on the pandemic related workload.
You will have a proven track record of working across a broad range of health protection areas, leading the acute incident response across a variety of settings and working at a senior level in local government will be a distinct advantage.
You will have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry.
The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for programmes, policies and services across a range of public health priorities. You will have a high degree of professional autonomy and freedom to act within your own area of expertise.
This role carries a high degree of professional responsibility under the Director of Public Health. The postholder will be responsible for the supervision and management of a team.
