Breast Cancer Haven

Breast Cancer Haven charity exists to improve the quality of life for people affected by breast cancer by providing personalised emotional, practical and physical support. Havens are day centres offering free programmes of personalised support to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Five Havens operate throughout the country with a sixth opening in the West Midlands in Solihull in the autumn of 2017. Breast Cancer Haven has received £2.5m from the Department of Health to establish the Solihull Haven and the new fundraising team faces the exciting challenge of securing sustainable income streams for the lifetime of the centre.

The Role

Breast Cancer Haven is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Trust and Foundations Officer to join its fundraising team to develop compelling applications for a wide range of grant-making bodies for its services across the West Midlands region.

In the role you will manage an established portfolio of trusts as well as identify new prospects. You will research and submit applications to a variety of trusts, foundations and relevant statutory sources, managing the entire process from research and project development to grant acceptance.

You will be home based until September 2017 when the new Solihull Haven is due to open.  Regular travel across the West Midlands will be required and travel to other Havens may be required from time to time.

The Person We Seek

The ideal candidate will be preferably educated to degree level with a strong track record of raising funds from trusts and foundations and successfully delivering against income targets. With a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the UK grant making sector and exceptional writing ability, you will also be accustomed to using CRM databases for the purpose of recording information. Self-motivated and a confident communicator, you will be adept at forming good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be dynamic, creative and a team player, being part of a high performing and cohesive fundraising team led by the West Midlands Fundraising Manager.

We are seeking enthusiastic and creative individuals who can bring a particular focus to their role in the team. Members of the team will need to work at a fast pace and be able to prioritise their own work load.
